Happy Monday, lovelies! Words cannot express my love for fur collars/scarves/wraps. Okay, that might have been a little dramatic, as I’m pretty sure I could sum it up with: “sort of obsessed.” I’ve collected a bin full of them over the years (with much thanks to my mom, mother-in-law and sisters), and I always look forward to using them when the temperatures drop each year.

I buy them pretty much whenever I see them, and this particular one I’ve had for well over a year, so I don’t remember where it’s from, but I found an awesome Etsy shop (click there or here) that sells a beautiful variety! Also, I found this infinity scarf on sale at Nordstrom for under $20! I think my favorite thing about fur collars and scarves is the way they instantly elevate an outfit and add an exciting, cozy texture to a look.

I think mixing textures in an outfit is always an easy way to make yourself look chic. Adding leather (or faux leather) to an otherwise less dressy outfit adds a nice edge that I love for my generally-super-feminine looks. Chambray (the distressed denim material of my top) is similar to leather in my mind, since it adds a unique edge to an outfit.

In my opinion, you’ll pull off a mix of different textures so long as you can keep things mostly neutral in the look. Do you ever mix textures? What is your favorite type of material to add an “oomph” to your outfits? I’d love to hear from you in the comments :).
