Is there anything as beautiful as fall in the South?! My first fall here was after our wedding in 2013 and it was magical. The huge variety of colorful leaves and the drop in temperature is refreshing, stunning and inspiring (to me, anyway!) Also, face it- it’s a massive relief when summer ends here and the horrific bugs die!
I’m sure it’s the basic blogger in me, but I love leaf throwing pictures. I mean, is it really even fall until at least half your IG feed is an array of placeholders (usually people) in front of beautiful, vibrantly hued fall leaves? Why not grab some of those fallen beauties and throw them up in the air? Maybe I feel the need to do this because we really didn’t have a huge selection of fallen leaves around when fall came to my hometown of San Diego each year growing up.
Regardless of the psychology behind it, I told John I had to have some leaf throwing pics in one of my favorite berets. LOL. The bright red is just perfect against the drying leaves, so I think it was a good call..
I’ve been wearing this super comfortable MLBD (modest little black dress) a bunch since it was delivered a couple weeks ago, and I think its understated, simple style is perfect for pairing with fabulous accessories. This modest black dress features a comfortable, flattering fit with 3/4 sleeves, a perfect neckline and a half-belt for that hourglass shape. The material is stretchy and would look great dressed up with heels or even dressed down more than this. I love this material for year-round wear since it’s not too thick and would look great layered.

As you can probably tell if you follow me on IG, I’m obsessed with berets. Berets are such a versatile hat style and they make any outfit look instantly more chic. I wanted to share a couple different ways I’ve worn them lately to give you some inspiration. I wish I had worn my hair up in one of these outfits, but I’ve been loving my new curling iron and straightener so much lately that I’ve been wearing my hair down a lot.
